The Canadian composer and environmental thinker R. Murray Schafer introduced the concept of the soundscape to describe the acoustic environment as something alive — a dynamic field shaped by wind and water, machines and voices, footsteps, birdsong, and distant signals. In Schafer’s vision, listening becomes a form of ecological awareness. Sound is not merely background; it is the living texture of a place.

Episode 16 of All Tribes Radio grows from this idea. If the world itself can be understood as a soundscape, then the music that moves across it might be understood as a sonic ecology — a living network of rhythm, melody, and atmosphere circulating through cultures and landscapes.

The Human Frequency is a one-hour transmission of contemporary international music, curated as a listening experience rather than a playlist. Moving through electronic and urban soundscapes alongside global rhythms and textures, Episode 9 listens for what connects us beneath language, geography, and culture: pulse, movement, and human presence. It is music as signal—alive, adaptive, and shaped by the spaces it passes through.

This episode nods to an older listening culture: the late-night ritual of tuning the dial, the patience of searching through noise, and the quiet thrill of discovering voices from elsewhere. In that shared moment—somewhere between transmission and reception—radio becomes more than technology. It becomes a meeting place.
 

While The Human Frequency is broadcast via shortwave for listeners who value that tradition, the episode is also available to stream directly on the All Tribes Radio website for those who do not have access to shortwave radio, or who simply prefer to listen online. However it is received, the intention remains the same: sound crossing borders without permission, reminding distant listeners that they are not alone—and that across cities, oceans, and time zones, we are all part of the same unfolding human frequency.

Across the Americas, Indigenous peoples have long carried a prophecy of separation and return — a vision in which two great paths of humanity, once united, diverged for centuries and would one day meet again.

The Condor, soaring in the South, carried the heart: spirit, relationship, intuition, and reverence for Earth — a way of knowing rooted in balance and ancestral memory.

According to the prophecy, humanity entered a long age of imbalance when these paths separated. But in our own time — particularly from the late 20th century onward — a turning point was foretold: a moment when Eagle and Condor would begin to fly together once more.

This reunion is not about conquest or reversal, but reconciliation — the meeting of mind and heart, science and spirit, masculine and feminine energies, modern knowledge and ancient wisdom. It speaks to a collective awakening, a chance to move beyond industrial dominance toward a more harmonious relationship with one another and with the living Earth.

Shortwave also remains a vital way to reach regions where internet censorship limits access to information.

All Tribes Radio has always been dedicated to sharing a message of global peace through music, and we’re excited to continue this mission with you.
